Ice Blocking

at Montefiore Hill (Get Directions)

We’ll be meeting on Montifiore Hill, just below Col. Light statue.
Ice Blockers MUST wear a bicycle crash helmet – AS 2063.
Please wear sturdy clothes – jeans and enclosed footwear (gloves to hold onto rope).
UNIFORM please for photos & public display.
Optional safety gear – knee and elbow protection (wear it if you have it)

PLEASE NOTE – no Y4 or no helmet – No ride.

Parking in Pennington Tce is for 30 minutes try Palmer Place – check signs to avoid fines.

We will be participating in Clean Up Australia Day at the Glover Playground in North Adelaide this year.
There will be opportunity to play.
Bring a drink bottle in a small pack.
Family is welcome to come along.

Scuba Come'N'Try

Sub Aqua is the diving activity team of Scouts SA. Training opportunities as well as diving activities for divers of all experience levels are supervised by our diving squad.

A Come’N’Try is happening at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre for interested Youth.

Youth Helper Course

at Scout HQ (Get Directions)

The role of the Youth Helper is to assist Adult Leaders in the delivery of the relevant Youth Section program. This course assists Youth Helpers to better carry out their role as well as providing for the requirements of the Venturer Scout Award Scheme. The course is open to all registered Venturer Scouts (and Scouts aged 14 years or over) who are undertaking the role of Youth Helper in a Joey Mob, Cub Pack or Scout Troop.
Topics covered on the course: Purpose and Requirements, Aims and Methods of Scouting, Role of the Youth Helper, Needs of the Age Group, Instructional Skills, Relating to Young People, Resources, Games, Emergencies, Award Scheme/Learning Objectives, Uniform and Ceremonies

Apply using A4 and send in to the Training Administrator at HQ.

RoVenture is day event which will be held on the 25th of March. Throughout the event, teams will race against each other following a sequence of Clues in an effort to be the first to reach the End on Saturday afternoon. The winning team will be presented with a prize. Competitors will compete in RoVenture in teams of 3 or 4. All members of the team must be between the ages of 14 and 26.

The cut off date for applications is Friday the 10th of March, any applications recieved after this date will incur a $10 late fee.
Cost is $20 for Venturers and $25 for Rovers

Easter Venture

Easter Venture is a four day competitive hike, run by the South Australian Venturer Branch. The event in 2015 will be held in the generalised area of Kuipo, South Australia (Adelaide Hills).

Teams of hikers compete to win as many of the five trophies as they dare.

During the evenings, teams will be able to relax and socialise with other entrants, enter more fun activities to win extra Theme points and on the final night enjoy a hot meal, freshly prepared for you and then go to the outdoor night club. for all details and forms.

Venturer Participants: $80 (Before Fri 03-Mar-2017) or $100 (After Fri 03-Mar-2017)
Includes transport, camp fees and Sunday evening meal.

Anzac Eve Vigil and Dawn Service

at Walkerville Memorial Gardens (Get Directions)

To commemorate Anzac Day, a vigil will be held at the Walkerville Memorial.
All sections will be involved in the Vigil, commencing with Joeys from about 6-8pm, then the Cubs from about 8-11pm,and finally the Scouts completing the overnight portion from about 11-5.30am,
A breakfast will be organised for the overnighters at about 5.15am. The youth will be able to use the area underneath the Sports Clubrooms as before.

As is tradition, the scouts and senior cubs will then form the Guard of Honour for the Dawn Service – this Service will commence 6.15am sharp.

Senior Cubs and Scouts that look respectfull in full, proper and clean scout uniform (Scouts shirts, pants & neckie and black/brown lace up shoes) will be able to participate in a ‘guard of honour’ at the dawn service.

After the dawn service, we are invited to join in for a cooked breakfast at the Walkerville RSL Club, Walkerville Tce, Walkerville.

We should return to the hall at approx. 9:30AM.

Group and Family Camp

at Roonka Water Activities Camp (Get Directions)

All sections and family members are welcome.
Accomodation will be dormitories or tents.
The camp will be catered (we are organising a cook), however there will be chores (kitchen cleanup, bathroom cleaning etc).
